After a disappointing iPhone sales in India(Due to its insane price), and release of many new iPhone killer phones like Samsung omnia, GPhone(HTC) and many other phones, Nokia has comeup with another smart phone(N Serious), Nokia N97. It is rumored to be released in European and Asian markets in Q2 of 2009 with a price tag of $700(Fingers crossed)!
As for now, we don not have much accurate information about this phone. What we have is, some photos and an official video. We got all the below information from YouTube videos. So just have a look at these videos:
Features:
* 3.5 inch TFT touchscreen display
* 360 x 640 screen resolution
* QWERTY keyboard with haptics
* 32GB of internal storage memory
* 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and dual LED Flash
* GPS with Nokia Maps 3.0 app
* Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Infrared
* Accelerometer and proximity sensor
* 3.5mm headphone jack
* HSDPA
* Huge battery life, offering 37 hours of music and 4.5 hours of video
* microSD supporting upto 16GB external memory
So its total capacity would be 32+16 = 48GB! Great:)
Did you just postpone your decision to buy a mobile phone? Think again, I know that N97 is awesome, but N98 or N100 Would be much better and amazing(surly). Then would you wait for N100 to come?
Buy the present phones and change it if you really think the newer one has something really worth the change.
Only thing, which helps due to the release of these new improved devices is, companies like Nokia, Apple, Samsung, Sony HTC, Motorola etc will keep coming with newer devices with much more attractive features and price. Thus it will help the customers(most of the time, but not always!) and the people keep buying the newer once(benefiting the companies) or keep postponing the decision to buy a phone and wait until the next update! — These are just our views. Please share your thoughts about buying or changing a mobile phone. And also comment about the New Nokia N97. We would be happy to know something more from you people.
Windows 7 is the next version of Windows for PCs, which mainly promises things like enhanced reliability, responsiveness, and faster boot and shut-down. Make everyday computing tasks easier, like connecting and syncing devices, browsing the web, and managing a home network. Here is a Video showing the power of multi-touch, which uses Windows 7:
This video shows the multi-touch innovations first previewed in Surface that will ultimately play a part of the next version of Windows.
The OS you see in the video is Windows 7, which looks much like Windows Vista.
Windows 7 is expected to be released sometime later in 2010! So it has a long way to go.
[ But Windows 7 Beta Version is already available to download in net, its not a official release, so use it on your own risk. ]
Windows Vista wasn’t a big hit, so Microsoft wouldn’t take a chance again and we believe that Windows 7 will be much better.
Windows 7 Multi-Touch @ PDC08(HP Computer):
Being a programmer and a geek myself, I have a desktop computer dedicated for testing all the software releases. So we have used almost all Windows OS. WindowsXP SP2 was simply great, while Windows Vista wasn’t so bad(our experience).
Anyway, we use and recommend Unix and we don’t find any other product to be better than that. OpenSource, reliable, secure etc.
Today Google released the Voice and Video chat feature to its Gmail. Switching from email to chat as needed, all within the same app, is really great for productivity.
From Gmail Blog:
All you have to do is download and install the voice and video plugin and you are ready. And in the spirit of open communications, Google has designed this feature using Internet standards such as XMPP, RTP, and H.264, which means that third-party applications and networks can choose to interoperate with Gmail voice and video chat.
This feature is available both in Gmail and Apps account. Seems like Google will soon steal the market share of Email Service. Presently Yahoo tops the list – Comscore figures.
The problem with Google not listing in the top might be, many people with a domain will be using Google Apps google.com/a/domain.com instead of the default gmail.com.
As you all know, networking sites and social bookmarking sites ( DIGG, Stumble, Yahoo Buzz, delicious etc ) can bringing a lot of traffic to our blog. And we have observed almost all blogs adding links to submit their stories to these sites.
You can see that Technotip.org also uses this feature and has got some traffic from it.
Now please share your experience with these sites in terms of traffic. Number it from 1, 2 ,3….. and write down your preference of these sites, in below comment section. There are many more networking sites which most of us are unaware of. By sharing your preferences and previous experience with these sites(in terms of traffic), you will be helping eachother and we can learn a lot from everybodies experience.
So please share your preference and you can link to your profiles on those sites.
So far our site has not got much traffic from these sites. Our main traffic source are from feedburner subscribers and from Google.
Now watch this DIGG song…. And let this nice song not influence your preference 🙂 hihihi…
When I’m feeling lazy, at school or when I work
I sneak to my computer, and then I like to shirk
I don’t go online shopping, I don’t email with my mom
I open up my browser, and go to digg-dot-com
Chorus: Gotta digg, gotta digg, gotta digg
Gotta make this story big!
Did you hear that awful sound?
Another server’s down!
I always dig up Apple, and I bury Microsoft
But when I said I was a girl, all the diggers scoffed
And when I see those stories about Senator Ron Paul
I don’t even RTFA; I just digg them all!
Chorus: Gotta digg, gotta digg, gotta digg
Gotta make this story big!
Did you hear that awful sound?
Another server’s down!
The fan boys can be tiresome, they always are outspoken
And if you’re listening Kevin Rose, the comment system’s broken!
I know digg isn’t perfect, but be thankful for what we’ve got
It’s just like daddy always says: “At least it’s not Slashdot!!!”
Chorus: Gotta digg, gotta digg, gotta digg
Gotta make this story big!
Did you hear that awful sound?
Another server’s down!

Hey are you forgetting something ? Read some lines from this article, from the beginning! (Your preferences in social networking/social bookmarking sites)
After Yahoo Buzz! was officially launched, we were eager to start using it on our blog, and experience the buzz. But from the first day itself we could find that, we could not submit our stories to Yahoo Buzz!
And the same error message is being shown now also. So what is the use of Yahoo Buzz! releasing to public? They could have solved the problem before the official launch.
Anyway, we could luckily and unknowingly found the simple way to submit the story to Yahoo Buzz!
The above error message comes only when you try to submit any story by right clicking on Yahoo Buzz! button and opening it in new window….!
Do not submit any story by right clicking on buzz! button and opening it in new window, it will show you the error message. So just directly click(Mouse – right click) on the “Buzz!” button and it will open in new window and you will be taken to the proper page to submit your story.
Many of you might be knowing this, but still I thought to share it with you, because I saw in many blogs and they were writing that Yahoo Buzz! is not at all working from the day they are open to all. But now you also know that(atleast after reading this post), its not true. Yahoo Buzz! is working fine, but Yahoo! surly need to make some improvements to it.
And as I have observed, both way of submission works fine for those who had got the opportunity to test Yahoo Buzz! before it was released to the general public. And as I just investigated it a bit, I found that the source code that they are using to display the Yahoo Buzz! button is different then that used by the general public!
Hope Yahoo! will soon consider the interests of the general public also, as the population of general public in much much much more than its selective members!
That was just my thoughts flowing while writing this article…..
Please share your experience so far with Yahoo Buzz!. Its difficult to tell about any service so early, but still you can share your early experience with it in the comment section, and lets all learn something out of everybodies experience.
Also (Vote)Buzz! this story to Yahoo Buzz!, if you find it useful.
Note:
The maximum number of each type of Ad unit that AdSense
program policies allow: 1. you can display:ONE video unit (currently only available in specific countries and
languages) 2. TWO…- AdSense for search boxes 3. THREE…- standard AdSense for content ad units, 4. THREE link units.
You can place all of these on one page. But keep user experience in mind.
Hope Indian’s will surly make use of this opportunity appropriately and earn maximum, by showing their creativity in creating video content. Lets see in the coming days, what will this revolution mean to Indian publishers.
And we were ready with some more screen shots of AdSense Ads with different fonts. But before that, we spotted yet another interactive AdSense Ad on our blog. This is not any new ad format. This is the common Advertisement made of Flash, but more interactive and looks more interesting. Take a look at the small video below.
You can also download above video, to see it clearly.
The Advertisement is of 300 x 250 dimension and is static until we rollover our mouse pointer over the Ad. And if we keep the mouse pointer over the ad for more than 5 seconds the final Ad with the link to its website comes. Here is a screen shot of the final Ad..
These Ads open in new window when someone clicks on it. And there will be no Ads by Google label on it.This type of ads will surly get more value to advertisers, as the ad shows many details before someone clicks on the ad. And after getting the needed, basic information from the animated ad, the user clicks on it only, if he is interested in knowing more about it.
Each and every blogger on this earth should watch this video fully, to learn some of the best practices, which Google itself follows.
This is a video recording of Marissa Mayer’s keynote that she recently delivered at the Google I/O Developers Conference. You’ll learn some very interesting facts about Google in this video. But more importantly, you should observe and relate or compare every aspects followed by Google to that followed by you, on your blog.
This would give you some idea of where you are doing wrong and what you should do, so that, to be on right track.
Here are some of the points you should observe and learn from this video…. 1. Google has employed designers, fashion designers, cartoonists, choreographers, developers etc mainly for its iGoogle project. So that, each and every aspect of their website is professional looking. So we should also give importance to every aspect of our blog, starting from the logo, design, content, layout, advertisements etc. It should be handled professionally.
2. Watch the video at 4min 55 sec, here Mayer is talking about the simple design of Google homepage. We should also make our website/blog as simple as possible, Without including more images, flash, etc, which increases the load time of our blog.
3. Get some friends and tell them to use your blog. Get some unbiased feedback. Take all the feed backs positively. Actually, negative feed back will help us a lot to improve our blog.
4. You have to know about how the data transfer takes place when a user visits your blog.
When a visitor visits your blog, all the http request is sent from the users computer to all the http objects present on your blog page. So if you have many objects displayed on your blog from different servers, then the load time would definitely be higher.
Its ideal to place all the objects like images, scripts etc inside one server and then link them on to your blog.
Also the speed of the server(where you have hosted your blog) is also important. And if you have frequent downtime means, you should think of changing your host. Technotip.org recommends Doreo host.
5.A/B split testing. Use some testing methods to determine the logo positioning, advertisement positioning etc.
6. Positioning of each thing on your blog will contribute to your success or failure. So be careful in A/B split testing.
7. “If you don’t listen to your customers, someone else will”. — Sam Walton.
8. “If I had asked people, what they wanted. They would have said, faster horses”. — Henry Ford.
9. Number of items displayed on your blog also play a vital role.
It is recommended that, you should remove all those widgets, badges, social networking link logos etc from your side bar, as it increase the load time and contributes for the bad user experience.
Social networking link logos can be displayed in your about me page or contact page.
10. Faster loading websites get more returning visitors over time.
11. Allow the comments to show on your blog, by making comment moderation quicker. And it will be good to see their comments live as soon as possible. And also reply for the comments quickly and aptly and promptly. This will show your commentators(who are the actual contributes of your blog) that, you value their voice(opinion).
12. Always welcome feedback.
13. Be upto date and blog according to the current trends of your niche.
14. Once you have implemented everything in your blog(after A/B slip testing), just don’t think its the perfect one. You need to run A/B slit testing again after a year or two. Because, the user requirements change along with time and you need to be quick to act accordingly.
16. Have “Healthy disrespect for the impossible”. — Larry page.
17. Nothing can be a perfect solution. We have to work constantly and keep moving nearer and nearer to perfection.
18. Imagination is muscle…We need to assume ourselves for What problems to work on, what products to develop etc.
19. Respond faster, for all those who report any bug on your blog.
If you can’t resolve the problem, just inform them that, you are working on it currently.
In some cases, the reporter of the bug himself/herself may even give the solution to the problem.
20. Watch from 45th min of the video to see a small Summary of this video.
Watch from 46th min for the question and answer session with Marissa Mayer.
These are some of the things that I could make out while watching this video. But this is not the end. Each person has his own ability to watch and understand. You may even get some more ideas after watching this video. If this is a case with you, then please share your thoughts in the below comment section..
