FlipKart Affiliate API

At last FlipKart has introduced its Affiliate Application Programming Interface(API) to all its affiliates.

We developed a sample application using Flipkart API, you can take a look at MobiSphere.in

I’m excited to see a wide range of innovative applications which make use of these e-commerce APIs to facilitate/help the end users with their smart buying decisions.

The API generates the response in the following 2 formats:
1. JSON: JavaScript Object Notation (Recommended)
2. XML: Extensible Markup Language

With this initial API release FlipKart is providing Product Base Info and Product Shipping Info. Product Base Info contains all the basic attributes of the product which includes title, category, price etc. Product Shipping Info contains shipping related information regarding the product.

For more details, log into your FlipKart affiliate account and visit the link: FlipKart Affiliate API

I’m happy to see Indian e-commerce site providing API facility. I’ve been mailing FlipKart support team asking for this from years now. I’m very happy to see this coming and more excited to see developers innovate with their product ideas.

Now you will start seeing more and more product comparison sites and ready-made scripts which you can purchase and host to start a comparison site instantly!

Would love to know if you have any innovative ideas which you want to see developed ..if something seems worth, will try to develop it.

For now, my best wishes too all developers who will start testing the API’s immediately.

Wire Transfer(EFT) In India: Google Adsense

Finally Google Adsense team made EFT available for all the accounts which are eligible for payment. I can already see the joy of publishers when they see their adsense account payment system being upgraded to receive their earnings via EFT(Electronic Fund Transfer).

Payment Hold

Once your account is upgraded, your payments will be on hold until you fill the payment method form.

Bank Information
To start with wire transfer we must obviously first give Google our bank details. So after we enable our payment mode we must fill:

Account holder name, Bank name, Account number are the ones every one of us understand. Along with this we also need to provide our branch IFSC code and SWIFT code.

Indian Financial System Code (IFSC)
An IFSC is an identification code for your bank and branch. It should contain 11 letters and numbers. For more details, contact your bank.

SWIFT Bank Identifier Code (BIC)
A SWIFT-BIC is a unique identification code for a particular bank or branch. It should contain 8 or 11 characters. For more details, contact your bank.

Not All Branches Have Swift Code
Every branch in India has its own, unique IFSC code. But not all branches have SWIFT code. When I contacted our bank’s( SBI – State Bank of India ) branch manager, he told he has no idea about SWIFT code ..and continued to tell me that we can receive money from other country just by using IFSC code and MICR code.

MICR – Magnetic Ink Character Recognition
Typically MICR code can be used to extract following informations:
Cheque Serial Number
Account Number
Branch or city code of a bank
Transaction code

So MICR isn’t of much use in EFT.

SWIFT Code Solution
Swift code is available only in branches which facilitates currency conversion services – like Forex trading etc. So get the Swift Code from your banks nearest branch which facilitates currency conversion service.

That is, go to your bank branch and ask which is the nearest branch of that bank which facilitates currency conversion or which has a Swift Code. Now ask nearest branches Swift Code and enter it in your adsense payment form. Done. [ You need not fill the ‘intermediary bank details’ and other credit details – they are optional ]

Note: With this introduction of EFT to Indian publishers, Google has removed paying via Cheques. So no monthly snail mails any more 🙁

Earn From Your Mobile Phone!

Update: Scroll down to check about YouMint – better way to earn from your mobile phone!

mGinger is the first of its kind opt-in permission-based mobile marketing platform in India, where you can get cool discounts/offers as well as incentives for helping your family and friends get these discounts/offers(by referring them to mGinger). And not to forget, mGinger also allows you to send free SMS. what else we can ask for ? Money, free sms, great deals.

The idea is simple: You have to signup your mobile number and email ID, and specify your interests and the time when you want to get information about these items.

To keep you interested and informed, mGinger also gives incentives for every ad you receive and for each ad received by people in your network upto two levels of referrals(explained below).

So, the more people you refer to mGinger(via the link you get inside your mGinger a/c once you signup), the more you could earn.

Incentives per ad received:
You: 20ps;
Referral level 1: 10ps;
Referral level 2: 5ps;

If you refer 100 people and in turn those 100 people together refer 300 people, you will have 400 people in your network.

You get 10 ads: so you earn (10 x 0.20) Rs = 2Rs
Referral level 1: 100 people, receive 5 ads each, so (100x5x0.10)Rs = 50Rs.
Referral level 2: 300 people, receive 5 ads each, so (300x5x0.05)Rs = 75Rs.

So you earn a total of Rs. 127
(What if you refer 1000 people and they inturn refer 3000 people in total? Calculate.)
Everyone and their neighbor has cell phones these days. Well, have you seen some one without one!

Once you accumulate Rs. 300 in your account, you are entitled to receive cheque from mGinger.

Your earnings depends on the number of people you refer, your profile information and the number of relevant campaigns running.

So keep referring more and more people(without spamming them ofcourse) and get more money and I’m sure your family and friends will thank you for introducing to something so cool.

You also earn when you and your referral receive promotional emails from mGinger.

Will mGinger make me rich ?
So, do you think mGinger will make you rich over night ? No.
It could provide you with some pocket money which you could use for your evening coffee with friends.

The real advantage is the money it can save you by providing you with real big discounts/offers on quality branded items.

mGinger has also started new deals, where they provide quality branded items for huge discounts. No bidding or lucky draws involved. You pay and you get it, with huge discounts.

With the introduction of “deals” mGinger has started sending more discount/offer sms’s, hence allowing us to make some more money from the ads we receive.

Is it a new type of scam in the city?
No. It’s not a scam. They actually pay. I have got my payments too. You can actually visit their home page and look at the number and the amount they have actually paid to their users.

Does the company really Pay?
Yes. Below is a proof. It’s my first cheque I got from mGinger, with a nice thank you note.

(Click on above images to enlarge..)

There are many other companies that might be running with the same concept, but I have tried many and non are actually good or anywhere near to the quality of mGinger. So I would recommend you to join mGinger and refer your family and friends to it.
Remember, money saved is money earned(and mGinger also pays you for saving your money!).

R.I.P mGinger
To our disappointment, mGinger has discontinued it’s operation without intimating its users.
we have found a better alternative to mGinger. Introducing YouMint, which existed even at the time of mGinger, but we thought mGinger as more trust worth(we were proved wrong).

PayPal Rules For Indian Users

How To Open/Create PayPal account ?

This could be the question people might start searching answer for in some months or years time. Because new users may not know all the information needed to open and start making use of PayPal account.

If you are an Indian PayPal user, then you have a different set of rules than PayPal users of other countries.

Here are the basic things to keep in mind while opening a PayPal a/c:
These are mandatory things to have, to open and enjoy the benefits of PayPal a/c.

1. PAN or Permanent Account Number
2. Purpose Code
3. Bank account in India

According to new PayPal rules, you should not keep any balance in your PayPal account for more than 7 days. It should be withdrawn to the bank a/c which is connected with your PayPal a/c with in 7 days, what-so-ever the conversion rates be on those days 🙁

PayPal also has auto-withdraw option available for Indian users.
Goto Profile -> Add/Edit Bank Account and click on “Make Auto Withdrawal” button.

Add PAN Number:

Your PayPal a/c -> Profile -> My Details -> Click on Add next to PAN.

Add Bank Account:

Your PayPal a/c -> Profile -> My Money -> Click on Add my bank next to Bank accounts.

Add Purpose Code:

Your PayPal a/c -> Profile -> My Money -> Click on Add next to Purpose Code.

Note: I’m a blogger and freelancer, I have added “Freelance journalism” as my purpose code.

Add Your Current Postal Address:

Your PayPal a/c -> Profile -> My Details -> Click on Update next to the Address field.

NOTE: One thing to know clearly is; From now you will not be able to pay for any product, service or anything using the balance present in your PayPal a/c. You should pay only by the credit card that is connected to your PayPal account. i.e., You have to first transfer the balance amount in your PayPal a/c to your Bank Account, and then pay from your Bank Account via your PayPal account! Now you may ask, whats the catch ? This is the rules RBI has set for Indian PayPal users, so we have to follow it.

So the Secure Payment option has been removed from all the Indian adsense publishers account.

If your account reaches 100$ or more in any given month and if all the holds are removed, then you will be able to see the payment Tracking number on the payment history page of your account from 15th of that month. And you can also track the payment status at www.bluedart.com using your Tracking number.
Blue Dart is not able to service all areas throughout India. If you live in a location they don’t service, your check will be sent by Registered Post and should reach you within 2-3 weeks of the mailing date.
