IMEI(International Mobile Station Equipment Identity) is a 15 digit unique number, using which law enforcement authorities can track your phone with the help of network service providers. If you loose your phone and do not have access to your phone bill or the box, there is still a way to recover the IMEI number.
How to get IMEI number?
If you still have your phone, you can dial *#06# to get the 15 digit number. If you have already lost the phone, you can get it by logging into your google account – which you used in your phone to access Google Play Store. Now go to Google Settings. Click on Expand All or the android icon and you’ll get the IMEI number and other details of your phone.
In Windows 8 you need to go to ‘Charms bar’ and then settings and then shutdown button. This would take some seconds and more importantly rambling around the window screen. Also if you are downloading something and want to shutdown after certain time, you can automate or schedule the shutdown of your windows system with this simple trick. No extra software to install, just follow the instructions below.
1. Right click – New – Shortcut 2. Set location/path: shutdown /s /t 3600
(3600 for 60 minutes. Give 0 for immediate shutdown) 3. Name the file, change icon(if you prefer to) and place it in a safe place – I prefer to have it on my desktop.
Whenever you want to shutdown your system, you can simply click this executable file.
I usually use command prompt to set the shutdown timing of my computer, while I’ve set the system to download something in the background.
Hope this would be a helpful tip.

Photos shot with digital camera usually have a huge file size – anywhere from 6MB to 12MB. If you use these images on a webpage it’ll take a lot of time for the page to load. This creates a lot of problems: user has to wait till the page loads, consumption of server bandwidth, more consumption of users internet data, and it’s not good from SEO angle too!
You need not be a photoshop expert to do this. Infact, you need not even install any complicated software.
If you’re on Windows, then you already have the software installed in your system by default.
How to reduce file size of an image and resize(image dimension) the image
Open the image in ms-paint.
Click Ctrl + w and resize the image.
Now save the image and check the file size.
This way you don’t even lose the quality of the image.
There are so many websites which require user permission to access their location – so that they can serve information relevant to their location. Previously browser use to depend just on the computers IP address, but with HTML5 geolocation API, browsers have become smart enough to get the users location information via various sources like GPS, IP address, WiFi networks, cell towers etc.
Go to Google Chrome’s Developer Tools – Right Click and select Inspect Element or press Ctrl + Shift + I (in Windows).
Switch to Emulation Tab.
Select Sensors option.
Check emulate geolocation coordinates.
Now input a different lat and lon values.
There are some websites which take your default location information and give you information relevant to that area, by using above trick you might be able to change it and access the information related to a different location!
YouTube is testing a new HTML5 based video player for its browser based desktop application. Some of the changes looks like being inspired by its own mobile app.
In the new video player, the controller disappears once you take the focus out of the player or once you take out the mouse pointer out of the video player.

Recently Facebook started forcing its mobile app users to start using its standalone messaging app. Now it looks like the company is trying the same with its Desktop users. Facebook has a dedicated domain and web based messaging ready at messenger.com
3 layered messaging app
The main difference from the one we have integrated with Facebook is, this dedicated messaging app utilized full width of your browser. Shows list of people with whom you had conversation recently to the left. In the center, you have the facility to message the selected user – it comes with usual animated and static emoticons, stickers, option to select and upload image from your computer and a quick like button. To the right hand column, it has brief detail of the person you’re chatting to.
Previously some people use to make use of some browser extensions/adons to remove the news feed, so that they can get rid of the extra distraction – if it was you, then messenger.com is exactly what you might be looking for.
Group Chat – Call – Video Chat
We can add more people to the chat by clicking on the + icon.
Click on the Call button to make call, if the person is also online.
Click on video calling icon, to start video calling – again, if the person is online.
To the left side we have the settings gear icon. Click on it to open a model window where we can enable/disable the notification sound, turn on/off the desktop notification.
Mute individual user
To mute the individual user, select the user first. To the right hand side you’ll get a check box to mute the the user – below the users profile picture.
We are very grateful to all TwitFever.com members who made our previous launch a grand success. We had to stop TwitFever.com as Twitter decided to upgrade/change its API and set some strict rules and access limitations. Many popular tech blogs called it anti-developer move from Twitter.
With new Twitter API, most of so-called popular Twitter applications had to shut down its services – due to its high maintenance cost and the need to redo the entire app with new set of APIs. So we took some time and rewrote the entire application from scratch with new Twitter API.
Twitter API Changes
Adapting to change is usually hard for developers, as we need to rewrite the entire application from scratch once again. But if we take a closer look – Twitter set these limitations to avoid wrong usage of their service. Ofcourse these limitations would mean a lot of pain for developers using it for good purpose – but then, we need to bear it and do our best with the resources available.
