Were you earning good income from YouTube’s Instream ad options ?
But now, pre-roll ads, Mid-roll ads and post-roll ads options are missing from your account ?
Not really..
You can enable these ads only for videos with atleast 10 min of content.
Once you upload the video and the video is processed, goto Video Manager and click on the edit link beside your video.
Next, goto Monetization tab and then select pre-roll, Mid-roll and post-roll ads.
Another good news is, we need not enable Monetization individually for all the videos. Now you can set default setting, which will be pre-selected for all your future uploads.
Well the +1 button has even made it’s way on Adsense ads.. yes starting from October 2011 Google’s +1 button along with the people(your friends) who pressed this +1 button will be shown at the bottom of Adsense for Content ads and Adsense for Mobile Ads.
Example on Google’s blog:
For example, take Susan, who sees an ad for a good deal on flights. She +1’s the ad, thinking her friends might value this deal. Now, when Susan’s friends and contacts are signed in to their Google accounts, they’ll be able to see Susan’s picture across the bottom of the ad, with a note saying she +1’d it.
Susan’s friends and contacts will also be more likely to see the ad. While the dynamics of our ad auction aren’t changing, the ad will now be included in the auction for the pages Susan’s friends visit, as we know recommendations from friends can be a strong signal of an ad’s relevance.
My question is: will Susan click on the ad first or the +1 button ? If Susan click on the ad, then how can she click on +1 ? On the other hand, if Susan clicks on +1, then “how does she know if it’s a better product without even first visiting the site?”
So, basically this +1 will help big brands build up their tribe with these creative ads and recommend others to view it too. So I guess, this feature will increase the click through rates of big brands or recognized ads more and the one’s with highly creative ad.
Google Adword Promotional Ad
Google has already started showing Adword ads featuring this +1 and giving $75 for the first time users! Below is a video of the ad which appeared on our blog today.
To Opt-out of this feature: For publishers Step 1: Log into your Adsense account. Step 2: Click on “Try the new AdSense interface” at the top right corner. Step 3: “Allow & block ads” tab. Step 4: In the left hand sidebar, “Advanced settings” under Blocking options. Step 5: Click on the check box, to enable or disable:
i. Interest-based Ads Preference: Show ads based on user interest categories. Visitation information from my sites may be used to help create interest categories. ii. Third Party Ads Preference: Allow advertisers to use their audience information to deliver more relevant ads to my site. iii. Social Ads Preference: Allow the use of +1 related features and social annotations in ads.
Adsense for Mobile:
I’m particularly interested in seeing how this could work on Adsense for Mobile ads. I’m so much into using my Xperia Arc and hence many android Applications.
It would be nice to have +1 in the adsense ads which are shown in these applications.
On mobile, the +1 button will replace the existing ‘g’ logo and recommendations will appear for several seconds, then fade out.
And no, clicking on +1 button won’t generate any revenue in your adsense account directly. Google hopes, it would increase the CTR(Click Through Rate) of your ads and hence your revenue will be increased.
+1’s will be one additional signal that help determine an ad’s relevance. All eligible ads will continue to compete in the ad auction, and we’ll continue to show the ones that will generate the most revenue for you. +1 button clicks are not counted as clicks on ads. Although you won’t receive any revenue for +1 button clicks, +1’s will help AdSense to deliver more useful ads to your users, which we think will result in higher returns over time.
For adword users though, it would help get more exposure. But the normal auctioning will continue..
As publishers we get the option to opt-in or opt-out of these Social Ad Preferences, so no complaining around. Opt-in or Opt-out, it’s left to you.
Update: Scroll down to check about YouMint – better way to earn from your mobile phone!
mGinger is the first of its kind opt-in permission-based mobile marketing platform in India, where you can get cool discounts/offers as well as incentives for helping your family and friends get these discounts/offers(by referring them to mGinger). And not to forget, mGinger also allows you to send free SMS. what else we can ask for ? Money, free sms, great deals.
The idea is simple: You have to signup your mobile number and email ID, and specify your interests and the time when you want to get information about these items.
To keep you interested and informed, mGinger also gives incentives for every ad you receive and for each ad received by people in your network upto two levels of referrals(explained below).
So, the more people you refer to mGinger(via the link you get inside your mGinger a/c once you signup), the more you could earn.
Incentives per ad received:
You: 20ps;
Referral level 1: 10ps;
Referral level 2: 5ps;
Example:
If you refer 100 people and in turn those 100 people together refer 300 people, you will have 400 people in your network.
You get 10 ads: so you earn (10 x 0.20) Rs = 2Rs
Referral level 1: 100 people, receive 5 ads each, so (100x5x0.10)Rs = 50Rs.
Referral level 2: 300 people, receive 5 ads each, so (300x5x0.05)Rs = 75Rs.
So you earn a total of Rs. 127
(What if you refer 1000 people and they inturn refer 3000 people in total? Calculate.)
Everyone and their neighbor has cell phones these days. Well, have you seen some one without one!
Once you accumulate Rs. 300 in your account, you are entitled to receive cheque from mGinger.
Your earnings depends on the number of people you refer, your profile information and the number of relevant campaigns running.
So keep referring more and more people(without spamming them ofcourse) and get more money and I’m sure your family and friends will thank you for introducing to something so cool.
Email:
You also earn when you and your referral receive promotional emails from mGinger.
Will mGinger make me rich ?

Deals:
mGinger has also started new deals, where they provide quality branded items for huge discounts. No bidding or lucky draws involved. You pay and you get it, with huge discounts.
With the introduction of “deals” mGinger has started sending more discount/offer sms’s, hence allowing us to make some more money from the ads we receive.

No. It’s not a scam. They actually pay. I have got my payments too. You can actually visit their home page and look at the number and the amount they have actually paid to their users.
Does the company really Pay?
Yes. Below is a proof. It’s my first cheque I got from mGinger, with a nice thank you note.
(Click on above images to enlarge..)

There are many other companies that might be running with the same concept, but I have tried many and non are actually good or anywhere near to the quality of mGinger. So I would recommend you to join mGinger and refer your family and friends to it.
Remember, money saved is money earned(and mGinger also pays you for saving your money!).

R.I.P mGinger
To our disappointment, mGinger has discontinued it’s operation without intimating its users.
we have found a better alternative to mGinger. Introducing YouMint, which existed even at the time of mGinger, but we thought mGinger as more trust worth(we were proved wrong).
Ever since the talks started around the web regarding monetizing Twitter and the apps which are built around twitter, Sponsored Tweets has been hot topic!
But if you have been making money online, then you know the risk of depending on only one source of income. It is the same for advertisers too. They can’t rely on banner ads only. So BuySellAds might have thought of giving another popular option for advertisers.
As sponsored tweets concept has been controversial ever since its inception. But what BSA is doing right is, it’s giving full control in the hands of advertisers and publishers. Advertiser can select twitterer’s based on some criteria and publisher will decide if he or she wants to send out that tweet or not.
One other interesting thing is, the minimum amount per tweet is $10; and you can fix anything above this.
This makes it interesting, as some of the blogs charge as low as $10 to $15 for banner ads, and now they are having the opportunity to earn $10+ per tweet!
This also makes sure, the advertisers are mostly big players and mostly have better product.
We have to wait and see how successful BSA will be with this new advertising format.
Note: All the sponsored tweets will be forced to include Ad in it. Hence the disclosure.
Q: I want to add a PayPal button to my Coaching Programme page wherein I have 3 services to offer. I want to use PayPal and get payment’s automatically into my paypal account and get notified whenever some one pays.
Note:
For this to work, you must have a Business account with PayPal.
Log into PayPal, click on Profile under My Account tab. In the “Selling Preferences section” click on “My Saved Buttons” link or “Create New Button” link.
In the right hand side, click on “Create new button” link.
Now it’s a simple 3 step process: Step 1: Choose a button type and enter your payment details Step 2: Track inventory, profit & loss (optional) Step 3: Customise advanced features (optional)
Under “Customize button” in Step 1, you can customize the PayPal button to have those drop downs. Ex: If you have 2 or 3 products to sell, you can use this option. Multiple prices
If you need more than one price for an item (e.g. you are providing 3 services with 3 different fee), leave this price field blank. Instead, in the Customize button box, check ‘Add drop-down menu with price/option’, and then enter your prices in the price fields that appear.
All these above steps are self explanatory and depends on your needs. You may be interested in onetime payment, someone may be interested in monthly subscription model and so on..there are options to customize the PayPal button based on your needs.
Getting Notification When Someone Pays
If you are not getting payment notification, then go to profiles, under My Account tab. Click on “Website Payment Preferences” under “Selling Preferences” section and configure it to get the notifications.
Change these settings only if you are not getting the notifications.
After configuring these simple 1-2-3 steps, you will get a HTML code, that you have to paste into your blog page, wherever you want this button to appear.
Caution:
Make sure you check the button before launching your product. I hope PayPal doesn’t allow you to make a test payment using your own PayPal account, so you will either have to get help from a friend or use your wife’s PayPal account! Testing is crucial.
Advantages
Customers can pay with Visa/Mastercard without joining as PayPal members.
PayPal has millions of users, so you can provide another option for them to buy your product or service.
Setup Shopping cart, buy now button, subscription option etc for free.
It’s secure. And people trust PayPal, most importantly because, they will not be giving Credit Card information whenever they buy a product or service.
You can set up the options in PayPal, so that you get the exact profit and lose stats.
You can automatically calculate Tax(if the option is enabled while creating the button).
You can get extra payment from your customers, by showing a second payment option for shipping.
Q: There are many ad networks which reveal the total percentage of revenue share they give to their publisher.
What percentage of earnings does Google share with their adsense publishers ?
Google didn’t reveal this until many bloggers and economists started guessing the revenue share based on their quarterly reports. But now Google itself has revealed the exact numbers. So we hope these numbers are accurate.
To look into it yourself, log into your adsense account. Navigate to My Account tab, scroll down and under the Property Information you will see the percentage of revenue share between Google and You(the publisher).
What Google has to say about this:
For displaying ads with AdSense for content, publishers receive 68% of the amount Google collects from advertisers. For AdSense for search, publishers receive 51% of the amount collected from advertisers. These percentages are consistent, regardless of a publisher’s geographic location, and are not in any way averaged between publishers. We don’t disclose the revenue share for other AdSense products; the revenue share varies for other products due to different costs of developing and supporting these products.
We believe our revenue share is extremely competitive. However, revenue shares alone can be misleading, so we encourage you to focus on the total revenue generated for your site. For example, if the Google ads on your site generate $100, with our 68% revenue share you’d receive $68 through AdSense. Another ad network might offer an 80% revenue share, but only collect $50 from advertisers, so you’d receive $40.
With the vast number of advertisers competing to appear on AdSense sites, our system ensures that you’re earning the most possible for every ad impression you receive.
So, publishers get 68% for AdSense for Content, 51% for AdSense for Search. And Google doesn’t reveal the revenue share for its other products, as it depends on many other factors.
Q: Can you please share the PHP program that you use to alternate the adsense ad’s Title color, Background color, link color for each refresh. I have been trying to accomplish this using PHP; Is there a plugin to accomplish this easily? And I’m also afrid, isn’t it against Google TOS – altering the adsense code ?
Yes, altering adsense code is against Google TOS. But I’m neither editing adsense code nor am I using any PHP coding to accomplish this. All I use is a simple adsense feature that is enabled in all adsense publisher account.
While creating an ad you can select the color Palette from the existing color Palettes or create your own. You can then hold CTRL key on your keyboard and select multiple color palettes. And these color schemes will be applied alternatively to the adsense ad.
You can do the same by editing the already existing ad code.
Goto Adsense Setup tab -> Manage Ads -> now click on the edit Ad Settings link infront of the desired ad.
Custom Palette: For creating custom color palettes: Log into your adsense account. Click on AdSense Setup tab -> Color Palettes.
Do the customization, give a name to your customized palette, save it. This custom Palette will be shown when you edit or create an ad.
Tip: Blend the ad pattern with the design/color of your website and it performs better.
