@Amit Banerjee, As said in the above article, many people are using the “Rewrite Titles:” option ON and everything works fine for them. But I got the above said problems fixed, only when I unchecked the “Rewrite Titles:” option.
And I did not make any changes to the theme. Just unchecked it and used the same old theme and everything started working fine again.
